Book Review: Flower Fables

This title was not familiar to me, but having enjoyed several of Alcott's other works, and since it is a free download on Kindle, I decided to read it and see what it was like.

The book is actually several fairy tales being told by flower fairies at the request of their Queen. Each story tells of someone learning to be unselfish and to serve others. It really is a sweet little book and would be a good choice for bedtime stories, especially for little girls. Most boys would probably think it was too sappy for them.

A piece of trivia here: When Louisa May Alcott was 16, she wrote this book for the daughter of Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Several of us caught bad colds after Turkey Day and so it has been nice to curl up with some good books and rest after our Thanksgiving Extravaganza. :) This little gem was only 110 pages, so it made for a very quick read. Even if you don't have a Kindle, the Kindle app is free to download on your computer. Then you can enjoy all the thousands of free Kindle downloads. Amazon has NO idea who I am and I don't earn anything by suggesting that--it's just a very useful tool that offers many possibilities.
