All the doors opened, even a generous sponsor to pay for the entire event! They are coming to our church campus for 10 days, beginning on Rosh Hashanah, September 30th. We are excited!
But then there's the list of "To Do's" that have to be covered. EEEEEKKKK! We need 50 people who will agree to work two 4 hour shifts, plus set up and break down crews, plus this and that and this and that.
I, who constantly tell people, "He IS SUFFICIENT for what concerns you today," have needed to be reminded that HE IS SUFFICIENT for what concerns ME today! As the project manager, all of my organizational skills are not enough! Only He can be enough for this!
My sweet friend, who volunteered to handle the publicity side of the equation, and I have had a couple of meetings where we kind of just look at each other and sigh really big and shake our heads. Last Friday was one of those days where we were telling ourselves that it will somehow all work out, trying to convince each other that it actually will.
The specific issue that day was trying to get everything printed, and the PDF's weren't working and the clock was ticking. She was so very frustrated because it seemed no one could help her figure out the problem.
She called me a little while later to tell me what the Lord had done for us!
The company that prints our bulletins for Sunday mornings called her, not knowing what project she was working on, just returning her call. As she began to explain the specifics, the owner asked her if she could come to his store with all her "stuff" and let him see what it was she was trying to do.
When she arrived and he saw that it was for The Tabernacle Experience, he got SO excited! This man and his wife had gone to the event when it was in our area last year. He told my friend that it changed their lives! Then he offered to do our printing for free! He even offered to make us a large banner ($400) as another donation!
So we went from not being able to get anything printed, to having it all donated! What had appeared to be a huge obstacle to us (an ornery PDF file) actually opened the door to a great blessing!
She called to tell me all about it and we both just sat there weeping over His incredible blessings!
Challenges continue to arise.
But He continues to speak Peace and to send the dearest encouragement from the most unexpected places!
In trying to get all the shifts covered, there was one name that appeared every single day on a shift. I thought it must be a mistake. This person has a job, after all. I don't really know the individual, but there was the name, again and again in the job that is the one most critical to the flow of the entire event, logistically speaking.
So I shot off an email with all of the shifts in question listed to see how many of them I would have to remove.
I received this response:
" . . . did I sign up for all those times?" (here it comes, I thought) "The answer is YES!! I have a great boss, and when I volunteer I like to make a difference. The Lord has asked me to make this a great experience for all involved, and for those who attend. If you need my help in other areas and at any other times I am here to serve. . . Please let me know if I can help you, I am all yours for the week. Have a great evening."
Of course, I wept again.
Why do I EVER doubt His Provision? Why do I ever feel like I need to control any of it? Why do I ever feel the slightest hint of apprehension? The shift back to "my strength" can happen so quickly in my spirit. That's the only reason I would ever be tempted to fret or worry. I am NOT sufficient for the tasks to which He sets my hands. I CANNOT make anything good happen, as a wife, a mother, a homeschool teacher, or a project manager for The Tabernacle Experience. It is ALL and ONLY Him!
And so even this week as I broke a toe, I find Peace awaiting my spirit.
Another of my precious, precious friends told me this morning that she was available to take something off my list because she has a "light week" ahead. His Perfect Provision.
A dear volunteer called last night and offered to canvas the city of Odessa for me with our posters and information packets today! His Perfect Provision.
Another page in my Heritage of Faith!
