Things have been hoppin' 'round here lately, with barely chance to think. But, it's all been wonderful.
The funeral of the young man who took his life was Saturday. The Christmas party for the youth had already been scheduled. The Lord knew they would need some lighthearted fellowship after attending the service and so they came straight from there to their party at our house, then on to a Brandon Heath concert.
What is it about the gathering of teenage boys that always results in a wrestling match of some sort?
The highlight of the party was the "white elephant" gift exchange.
This old television set was hilarious.
And then Joshua, lucky guy, got a shiny owl. He was so excited. :)
Now M & M's are always going to be stolen. It's a "given."
Another "classic" gift was this seat cushion. One of the young men had broken his tailbone a while back and the doctor had given him this "doughnut" to ease his discomfort. Oh my! The jokes that were made! They came up with about a million "alternate uses," trying to entice someone, anyone, into stealing it. He was unsuccessful.
Oh Ben, what did you get?
Awww, just what he's always wanted!
It really disturbs me that our lovely parties must have reptilian displays! The teens think the snakes are so cool. Well, some of them do. The mothers? Not so much! Consider it fear therapy.
A good time was had by all, and we got the house clean to boot! :)
