Rebekah's Rescue, Part II
The vet's office just called. It wasn't good news. The doctor returned to Midland this morning and examined the hawk. They put it under anesthetic to begin surgery, but it didn't survive. They told us it was a Merlin, which is actually a small falcon. It's injury was not recent, it had been "down" for a while. We hadn't seen it, but the vet's office said there was a large laceration, too.
That's too bad. At least you gave it a chance at survival.
