Our Latest Adventure, Part III
Watching the sunrises and sunsets over the ocean call forth that deep sense of Wonder that He placed in our spirits. He is my favorite Artist! No One Else can paint the sky like He can!
Caleb always has to make a silly face when he knows I'm pointing the camera his direction. We had hoped to be seated at one large table. That didn't work out, but we had two right next to each other, so we could harass back and forth easily. :)
Loved all the "towel critters," but this was probably my favorite little guy.
Samuel gets lots of coverage from his food.
Our first port was Cozumel in Mexico. We had scheduled an excursion that was near and dear to the hearts of Kregg and I: a return trip to a place we visited on our honeymoon 26 1/2 years ago!
I think God's favorite color must be blue. I know it's mine! And the shades in the water and the sky were stunningly beautiful.
Everything was so lush! We folks from the desert of West Texas aren't use to such profuse vegetation. What a treat for the eyes!
There were lots of iguanas! All different patterns and colors and sizes.
It took an hour on a bus, but we made it to our destination: Tulum--ancient Mayan ruins.
I LOVE a great sense of humor! If a bus has to be painted, and they all do, why not be creative and have some fun?
These were my favorite ones--so cute and clever.
I do not think we have these birds where we live. :)
Of course, Rebekah wanted to bring one of these home. Thankfully, there is no way the ship would let us bring him aboard. Whew! Dodged that bullet! :)
There is a wall around the site--this is one of the entrances.
What incredible structures! As amazing as they are, it is sad to think about all the people who worked so hard to build temples to false gods. May everyone who visits here know the True and Living God!
Rebekah is still concerned over the fate of this iguana--she thought it might not be able to get itself out of this hole it had crawled into.
Samuel loves just "hanging out."
This is Mario, our guide. He is a descendant of the Mayan people and told us many fascinating things about them. We came away from our day spent with him saying, "Let me to show you . . ." He kept saying that. "Let me to show you." "Let me to tell you." It was so cute.
Tulum is located atop a cliff overlooking the sea. Absolutely gorgeous!
It actually rained on us for awhile. Thankfully, Caleb had a waterproof cover on his backpack so all the cameras found a dry spot to hide until it cleared off.
We made our way down the stairs to the beach below. When Kregg and I visited before, there was no easy way down.
This was probably my favorite spot from the entire trip. I could listen to the sound of the waves forever.
Elizabeth informed me that the little "berry" things are filled with air so that it floats. She popped one open to demonstrate.
Rebekah has temporarily seemed to misplace her feet.

Benjamin :)
His shorts are still wet from the waves.
Over 26 years later, and still in love! :) I am so blessed.
I certainly did NOT expect to see a tiny little Dairy Queen tucked under the trees at the site of ancient Mayan ruins.
A reminder of how most of the rest of the world has to live.
It is amazing how pervasive the "culture" of the U. S. is around the world. May we be as "pervasive" with His Message, everywhere we go.
If you look closely, there is a second rainbow to the left of the brightest one. What a glorious sight as we made our way back to the ship after a wonderful day!
Rebekah's main goal on our trip was to snorkel. Bless her heart, there wasn't an opportunity for it in Cozumel that day.
Another glorious sunset!
To be continued . . .
